Liminal

Date: 2026
Location: Taos, New Mexico, United States

Liminal redefines the entrance to the Harwood museum, creating a series of in-between spaces that create alternative routes of passage between the various parking and pedestrian approaches to the museum. These disruptions in the passage create a series of liminal spaces that activate interior spaces, immersing the occupant in space that is defined by earth, its coolness, the framing of the sky, and the vignettes and unexpected encounters with various passersby. The installation will even include a public horno for baking bread. During fabrication, the robot redefines the entrance, creating a spectacle that places adobe simultaneously in the past, the present, and the future.
